Finding the Process Worth Automating

This course is for the ops manager, controller, office manager or owner who suspects the back office loses hours every week to retyping, chasing and checking, but can’t yet say which process or how many hours. No programming, and no new software required.

You’ll run a lightweight version of the deep dive we do for clients. Interview the people who do the work, trace one process end to end, and measure it in hours per week, cost per item and dollars a year, including billable items that slip through. That’s your baseline. Then pick one fix, estimate its payback honestly, and decide whether to do it yourself, buy it, or bring in help. Sometimes the right answer is to leave it alone, and the course shows you how to tell.

Five short lessons, about an hour and a half in total including the exercises. You finish with a process map, a baseline spreadsheet, a payback worksheet and a decision you can defend to whoever signs the checks.

Free for individuals, or $1,200 per company per year for a team license that covers up to 25 staff, with progress tracking and completion certificates.

Map it

Find the work that gets moved between systems by hand, and trace one process from start to finish.

Lessons

Spot the work that gets typed twice Trace one process end to end

Measure it

Put numbers on the process: hours per week and cost per item. That’s the baseline every later decision is measured against.

Lessons

Build a baseline: hours and cost per item

Decide

Pick the first fix, estimate payback with honest assumptions, and choose between doing it yourself, buying it, or hiring help.
